Venus in Scorpio: into the deep

Venus in Scorpio Image author unknown.

Venus enters Scorpio on 10 September ushering in a period of approximately one month when we are unlikely to be satisfied with superficiality in relationships. We want the deep stuff, even if that means it’s also dark, gritty and dirty. Venus in Scorpio isn’t afraid of the dark. She likes things intense, passionate and emotional.

When we touch one another at this level, when we reveal ourselves at our most raw, we may feel extremely vulnerable. Therefore fears may emerge from deep within us during Venus in Scorpio. Jealousy, insecurity and resentment may surface and require attention. We may even find ourselves facing issues of possessiveness, power and control. Observe yourself closely and ask yourself whether you are giving your power away to others; conversely be aware of where you may be rudely stealing power from someone else.

Venus in Scorpio likes to play on the dark side and an interest in the sexual taboo may arise at this time, particularly if your chart is personally triggered. Exploring these aspects of ourselves is healthy, within a loving consensual relationship. On the other hand trying to repress desires that make you feel uncomfortable or afraid can cause problems: it’s always better to get things out in the open where they can be seen clearly and judged for what they are.

How will Venus in Scorpio affect you?

Venus in Scorpio will resonate most strongly for those who have Venus placed in Scorpio or the 8th House natally. You may also feel it if you have strong natal aspects between Venus and Pluto. The area of your life that will be most affected depends on which house Venus is transiting through in your chart.

For example in my chart I have Venus placed in the 8th House in square aspect to Pluto so I expect to feel this transit quite strongly. The sign of Scorpio begins half way through my 5th House so Venus in Scorpio will affect both my 5th House of Fun and Romance and my 6th House of Work and Service.

How do you experience Venus in Scorpio?

Do you have a strong connection between Venus and Pluto in your chart, either due to sign or house placement or via aspect? How do you experience the intense relationship dynamics of Venus in Scorpio? How do you work with this energy in a positive way?

  1. <3 Love the image! So apropos :)

  2. I have Venus square Pluto as well with 12th House cusp at 24 degrees Scorpio. So transiting Venus will be moving through 11th House – my relationships with the wider world?

  3. My Scorpio Venus is placed in the 9th house so this fits rather well with the Foreign/Travel stuff of the house… My new manager is located outside of my country, and he will visit us during this week. This is perhaps one of the nice ways Venus in Scorpio plays out of all the above mentioned in the text.

Otherwise this sounds like some serious and heavy hitting aspects. P/U square… again? Oh noes. Transiting Pluto is also squaring my 8th house natal moon these years, so with Mars in Libra now thrown in the mix? Boy oh boy. Especially because I have a natal square between Mars in Capricorn and Libra Moon.

This will be a double – no, triple! square energy, and now with Venus occupying Scorpio and the P/U squares… All in all, four squares(!). So, with a little: 4^4 = 16. Maybe this is a way to express the level of intensity this month. 16 times more intense. Phew! My Scorpio will be having a blast! (I hope)…

  4. If you are a Scorpio rising male with Venus in Gemini in the eighth house how will this Scorpio in Venus transit affect you? Any thoughts welcomed. Thks

  5. Dank Faith voor de weg door het pad te wijzen. Fijn en bewust weekend Anna

I also have Venus sq Pluto but it is my Pluto not Venus in the 8th house. (You wrote that this is your placement.) I wonder what it’s like to have Venus there. Jeff Green has some mind-blowing revelations about Pluto in the 8th.
