Astrology of June 2020: a wild wave then the sea calms

Astrology of June 2020

The astrology of June 2020 is going to be like a rough wave rolling in. The first half of the month will be heavy, with Sun / Venus conjunct and square Mars / Neptune, all under the influence of Jupiter conjunct Pluto. But, apart from the longer dance of Jupiter and Pluto, all this rolls through before the middle of the month, replaced by a series of supportive sextiles.

Jupiter reenters the orb of Pluto on 1 June and the two conjoin for the second time on 30 June. This powerful transit forms a background or theme for the entire month, and on which the other transits play themselves out.

Both Jupiter and Pluto are retrograde so this is a time of exploring our inner realms, places that may be dark or frightening. It is a time for pruning away outdated philosophies and dogmas, expanding and empowering ourselves through deep learning and perspective shifts. Those with planets or points between 21 and 27 of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will experience this transit strongly.

If you don’t yet have your own natal chart download one for free at astro.com, then learn to read your transits with my free ebook The Language of Astrology.

The first half of June sees conjoined Sun / Venus in Gemini and conjoined Mars / Neptune in Pisces in square aspect to one another. The crisis point of the tension between these planets comes when the Full Moon in Sagittarius activates them all by t-square on 5 June. The Full Moon occurs at 19 degree of Sagittarius and, over the course of three days, will square first Mars, then oppose the Sun and Venus, and finally square Neptune.

The impact of the Full Moon is made stronger because it is a penumbral lunar eclipse. To read more about this eclipse and what it means check out Cristina’s article on this month’s full moon in Sagittarius.

Those who’s charts are triggered by these squares may experience painful realisations, interpersonal conflict, emotional confusion and general disharmony. During a time like this it’s wise to step up your personal grounding and centring practices to make sure you think, speak and act as consciously as possible. If you have planets or points between 17 and 23 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces you will feel this square very strongly.

But the astrology of June 2020 isn’t all about challenge. Mercury will sextile Uranus between 2 and 9 June, offering much needed mental clarity during the period of the square between Sun/Venus and Mars/Neptune, which will last until 11 June.

And then from 16 June we’ll enjoy a series of sextiles, first from Mars to Jupiter / Pluto and Saturn, and then from conjoined Sun / Mercury to Uranus. Our actions and creative thinking will be aligned to develop and implement positive solutions for change, abundance and empowerment.

While the conjunct between Jupiter and Pluto draws closer these supportive sextiles help us to take advantage of what this powerful transit is offering us. Together these two push us towards exploration of our inner world, even of the most frightening parts of our personal and collective psyche.

We must take this journey in order to overcome fear and emerge into something new. We cannot turn away. We must face our most terrifying demons. This may require sacrifice and the loss of things we have come to rely upon. But in letting go we are released from our dependence. Power returns to its proper place: within. The sextile from Mars to Jupiter / Pluto is an opportunity to act for our own empowerment and freedom.

The New Moon occurs on 21 June at 6 degrees of Cancer, within orb of Mercury and the Sun who sextile to Uranus from June 26. The Sun and Mercury meet on 1 July, almost exactly sextile to Uranus. This beautiful three planet alignment, initiated by the New Moon, suggests an intellectual creativity that supports social and cultural evolution. Those with planets or points between 5 and 11 degrees of the Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) and Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) signs will benefit most from this transit.

  1. Well our trust issues have reared their ugly head again and ultimately we are either really reconciling or breaking up and I’ve known this is the way it would go for some time I was just avoiding and in denial. I hope for true reconciliation, but I fear the break up. This love is the love of all love. Mind blowing. Earth shattering. The kind of love that makes people write poetry and music and create art. But in the wrong hands it’s destructive and emotionally wrecking. So we shall see. I’m getting a therapist so that’s a step in the right direction. I hope he does too. 💔💔💔

  2. Holy shit @ Anthony Bell… I’m going thru the same thing. Words fit my situation perfectly. If I lose him i I wont be able to go on.

I will pray for your reunion, reconciliation, and rebuilding of trust and passion within your relationship.
Can i ask you to do the same for me? ♡
    Happy 4th.
